Launched in 2001, the .NAME generic top-level domain name extension is the only one supposed to be for personal sites only. These domains can include personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other titles people are popular by. Initially, only third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wished to order john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already grabbed third-level names remained running.

You will have the chance to update the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our company if you take its EPP transfer key from the current domain provider and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been completed. There are no particular regulations on who can secure a .NAME domain name, but in order to keep the concept behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.
