Hosted Domains
What exactly are Hosted Domains? What is the difference between an ordinary domain name and a hosted domain name?
The hosted domains feature of a hosting account indicates the amount of registered domain names that one can include within the very same account. Registering a domain name and hosting it are two different services although many people consider them to be the exact same thing. While the registration means that you become the owner of a certain domain name, the hosting aspect is what actually enables you to have a web site as this is where your data and e-mails are going to be. Because these are two independent services, you'll be able to register a new domain address with one company and host it with another one by modifying its name servers (DNS) - the domain address will work in the exact same way just as if it was registered and hosted with the same company. Also, it is extremely important to know that changing the hosting means pointing the domain to another company and not transferring it.

Hosted Domains in Cloud Hosting
With our
Linux cloud hosting plans you can host a different amount of domain names, no matter whether you register them through our company or with some other provider. If you host just a few domain addresses, you'll likely use a smaller amount of resources, so you can go for a lower-end plan, which will be cheaper. If you want to add more domain addresses in your account at some point, you can add additional slots through your web hosting Control Panel and keep the current plan or you can upgrade your entire plan and employ the extra system resources for the new domain names. Either one of the upgrades will take just a few mouse clicks and is activated immediately. As registering and hosting a domain address are two different things, there isn't any limit how many domain addresses you can register whatever the plan you’ve signed up for.

Hosted Domains in Semi-dedicated Servers
Since our
Linux semi-dedicated servers are rather powerful, we've decided not to put any limit on the number of the domain addresses you can host if you purchase such a plan. This feature is unrestricted by default, and not on demand or after some upgrade, it is therefore up to you how many domain names you'll add and how you will employ the system resources of the semi-dedicated hosting account. The plans are handled through our in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel that will allow you to see and manage all hosted domains from a single location, eliminating the need to go through different accounts as you will have to do with other website hosting Control Panels. Additionally, there is no limit how many domain names you'll be able to register or transfer and it is your decision how many of them you are going to host in the account.

Hosted Domains in VPS Servers
With our
Linux VPS servers you're going to get a lot of resources at your disposal and since you're going to have your own server, it's only natural that you can host as many domains as you want. You can pick among three website hosting Control Panels during the registration procedure and based on your choice there are two different options. If you pick our custom Hepsia Control Panel, all domains hosted on the server are going to be managed together through one account and newly registered domains will be hosted automatically, while if you select cPanel or DirectAdmin, you will be able to create a separate account for every domain name and for new registrations you will have to add the domains manually. The second alternative could be more convenient if you need to give access to a specific domain to a third party without giving them access to the whole server or to other domains hosted on it.
