Whois Privacy Protection
Whois Privacy Protection is extremely helpful when you would like to protect your private information. Discover more about its basic advantages.
When you register a domain name, you are required to provide an authentic home address, email account and telephone number as per the policies adopted by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). This information, though, is not kept only by the domain registrar, but is accessible to the public on WHOIS sites as well, so anybody can see your info and lots of people may not be happy with that fact. As a consequence, many registrar companies have come up with the so-called Whois Privacy Protection service, which hides the registrant’s information and upon a WHOIS lookup, people will view the details of the domain registrar, not those of the domain owner. This service is also known as Whois Privacy Protection or Privacy Protection, but all these names refer to the exact same service. Currently, most of the top-level domain names around the globe allow Whois Privacy Protection to be added, but there are still country-specific extensions that don’t support this option.

Whois Privacy Protection in Cloud Hosting
You can quickly enable Whois Privacy Protection for any domain that you’ve registered with our company if you’ve got a
cloud hosting account with us. This can be done through the same Hepsia Control Panel, via which you administer the web hosting account itself, so you will not need to use different Control Panels. In the exact same section where all your registered domains will be listed, there will be an “Whois Privacy Protection” icon for each and every domain name whose extension supports this service. The status of that icon will quickly show you if the Whois Privacy Protection service is activated for a given domain or not and by clicking that icon you can activate the service if you haven’t done so during the signup process. You’ll also be able to renew or to deactivate the Whois Privacy Protection service for any domain using that same icon and the change will take effect instantly.

Whois Privacy Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers
In case you’ve got a
semi-dedicated server account with us and you register a domain under it, you can add our Whois Privacy Protection service effortlessly. This takes just a couple of clicks of the mouse in the Registered Domains section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you administer everything connected with your semi-dedicated hosting account. This is the place where you can see all your registered domain names and for each one of them you’ll see an “Whois Privacy Protection” sign, using which you can enable, renew or remove the Whois Privacy Protection service. Of course, this will be possible only with generic and country-code domain extensions that support this option and you will be able to see this in advance, so that you won’t end up buying a service that we can’t provide.
